The Camino Sanabrés is the most commonly taken branch to end the Via de la Plata, from Ourense to Santiago. It includes the option of staying a night at the Cistercian monastery of Oseira. The Camino de Invierno is a variant of the Camino francés leaving at Ponferrada so as to avoid the usual mountain route in winter.
