Comment

Viollet le Duc restored the buildings of the Middle Ages which had fallen into decay since the Revolution. Much of his work is on the Chemins de St Jacques, e.g. Notre Dame de Paris, Conques, Vézelay, Carcassonne. Examples are given in the dictionary of architectural features (abside to vitrail). Vol. I is architecture, Vol. II includes furnishings, garments, etc.
