This book is of great historical interest. It was issued in connection with World Youth Day, held in Santiago in 1989. Pope John Paul II attended, and this was a major factor in the revival of the pilgrimage in modern times. The Interdiocesan Commission that produced it included Don José Ignacio Diaz, Don Antonio Viñayo (León), Don Antolín de Cela (Ponferrada), Don Elías Valiña and Don Jaime García (Pilgrims' Office). The list of accommodation is, of course, out of date - but note that the usual word then was refugio, not albergue.
