With Introduction by Shirley Toulson. Illustrated by A.L. Collins. A classic work, first published in 1916, a year before Thomas's death in WWI. The Icknield Way (possibly named after the Iceni tribe) is an ancient trackway running South-West from East Anglia. Thomas walked from Thetford, Norfolk to Wanborough, Oxon. The first chapter is "On Roads and Footpaths", and the book is very akin to Belloc's account of the Pilgrims' Way "The Old Road" (#00042, BKA).
